The last few years I have been returning to Ambatalamphy Madagascar. These people have welcomed me into their lives and homes enabling me to form a relationship with them, the interiors of their homes are dark, they have no electric. The diffuse light from their doorways lights their faces revealing shy, coy, impish characters the ambient light gives a natural softness to their faces. It’s a privilege to be able to take their portraits candidly.
